Know a video is breaking out before everyone else does.

The problem

Raw view counts are the wrong signal.

80,000 views is a breakout for one channel and a below-average Tuesday for another. Trending pages and view totals only show you what has already blown up — after the window to learn from it or ride it has closed. The real signal is relative: a video pulling far ahead of its own channel's normal numbers. That's the only thing OIE measures.

Small ML channeltypical video: 5,600 views 80,000 views 14.3× · outlier
Large comedy channeltypical video: 110,000 views 80,000 views 0.7× · quiet
Same number. Opposite story. Baseline-relative is the only fair read.
How it works

Two scores find the outlier. One click explains it.

Every tracked video is scored against its own channel's history — nothing is compared across channels, so a 10k-subscriber channel's breakout counts just as loudly as a 2M one's.

Velocity

Catch it while it's climbing.

Views per day, measured between snapshots, against the channel's typical views per day. A breakout shows up here in its first hours — long before raw views pile up.

views / day ÷ channel's typical views / day
Views ratio

The simple, absolute check.

Total views against the channel's typical total. No time component — just how far above its own normal this one video has landed.

The standout

“Why is this breaking out?” — answered from the transcript.

One click on any flagged outlier and OIE reads the video's actual transcript alongside its stats, then writes an explanation grounded in what's really said on screen — the hook, the promise, the structure. Not a generic guess. An answer you can act on.

“I replaced my $400/mo tool stack with open source”AI Tools · uploaded 2 days ago 11.8× velocity
Why is this breaking out?

The first 40 seconds make a concrete, priced promise — “everything on this list is free and replaces a paid tool” — and the transcript delivers it as a checklist, one swap per minute. That structure matches the retention-friendly pacing the channel's slower uploads lack, and the topic sits on a spike in “open source alternative” search interest this week.
